As many of us do, I once lived a stressful life, never taking time to slow down always on the go, working 40+ hours a week and solely responsible for raising my child, I felt lost with myself, stressed and exhausted. I didn’t stop.I soon discovered firsthand how import it was to take care of myself and take time to breath. I was more tired than usual and lost a significant amount of weight. Too busy to notice, too busy to care. Until I found a lump. I was given less than a year to live, and my chances of surviving stage 4 cancer were slim to none. I had to stop.I have always had an interest in finding natural ways our bodies can heal, now more than ever I needed to dig deep within and turn this interest into knowledge, this knowledge into power. I underwent my chemo, graciously appreciating Western medicine, but I also felt strongly that my body would survive, despite what I was told. I was then introduced to Eastern medicine through the hospital. When your power is taken away, you do what you can to fight for it back. And I did. I found that, although my body was not meant to survive, it did. My spirit not broken, my mind more intrigued than ever. I started fresh.I quit my job, I enrolled in school and discovered how my interest, was now my passion. I need to do my part and help others prevent from getting sick, keep connected with themselves and heal with preventative care through living a balanced life. My hematologist told me the cancer would return, I am happy to say, I am seven years cancer free. I attribute this to living a balanced, peaceful life filled with natural preventative care.I practice Qi Gong and meditation regularly and take time to live in my moment. I feel happy and I choose to live with peace, love and joy over stress and chaos.
