Privacy Policy

Bedford Acupuncture / Andrea Anderson Wellness — bedfordacupuncture.ca

Last updated: October 2026

Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, and how it's handled. We follow Canadian privacy norms, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for personal health information, Nova Scotia's Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).

What we collect

- Contact information you send us through the website's contact form or by email (your name, email address, phone number, and your message).

- Booking information when you book online (your name, contact details, the service and appointment time you choose).

- Health information you choose to share on intake forms or during appointments, so we can provide safe, appropriate care.

How we use it

- To book, confirm, remind you about, and manage your appointments.

- To respond to your questions and messages.

- To provide your treatment and keep proper clinical records, as required for regulated health care in Nova Scotia.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for marketing unless you have asked us to keep in touch.

Health information is sensitive — and treated that way

Anything you share about your health is treated as confidential. It is used only for your care and for the records we are required to keep as a health practice. Access is limited to the people involved in your care.

Tools and service providers

We use trusted tools to run the clinic, including our website and online booking provider (Wix), practice management software (Noterro), and calendar and email services (Google). These providers process information on our behalf and may store data on servers outside Nova Scotia or Canada. They are expected to protect it under their own privacy policies and applicable law.

Cookies

This website may use basic cookies so it works properly and to understand, in general terms, how visitors use the site. You can turn cookies off in your browser settings.

How long we keep information

Clinical records are kept for the period required by Nova Scotia health-record rules. Contact-form and email messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and manage your care or booking.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask questions about how it's used. Contact us at andrea@bedfordacupuncture.ca or 902-817-2143 and we'll respond as promptly as we can.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted on this page.
